Timber Species:
Medium Charred & Brushed
The art of Yakisugi is an ancient Japanese method of wood preserving. Referred to as 'Burnt or Charred' timber cladding, by slightly charring the surface of the wood without combusting the whole piece, the wood becomes water-proof through the carbonisation and is more durable. It also protects against insects, as well as making it fire retardant and an exciting trendy design option.A medium charred & brushed finish gives a blackened, medium brown undertone with a more uniform 'burnt' effect. The process of a light wire brushing then creates texture by raising in grain of the timber and removing elements of the charring to show a medium brown base
