Originating from Finland, this pine (pinus sylvestris or picea abies) has been thermally modified using a process of applying heat and stream. As well as imparting a medium-darker brown colour, this heat treatment improves the timber’s biological performance and dimensional stability.

This species is known for its prominent grain, with structurally sound live round and splay knots — a characterful, eye-catching and natural addition to any design-led space.
