Species:
Thermo-Ayous

Thermo-Ayous is thermally modified Ayous, a West and Central African hardwood, heat-treated in a controlled atmosphere to achieve Class 1 durability (EU standards) — no chemicals involved. The process also increases dimensional stability, producing a clear-grade, virtually knot-free cladding board with attributes similar to Cedar.

At around 400 kg/m³, Ayous is one of the lightest cladding hardwoods available, making it easy to handle and fix. Its fine, even texture and straight grain take on a rich, uniform golden-brown through modification — often compared to teak — weathering naturally to an even silver-grey, or maintained with a UV-protective coating.

Imported and machined in-house, Thermo-Ayous is available in a range of profiles, including DTC47, for projects from single dwellings to commercial façades.
