Our Thermo-Ayous cladding in a horizontal shadow gap profile (DTC19) created a stunning, sustainable exterior finish for this contemporary home.
Introducing Glebe House, a beautiful bespoke modern home with a double bay garage, situated in the rolling countryside of Hampshire.
Designed and built by UK Signature Homes, this property shows how thoughtful architectural design and high-performance timber cladding come together as the perfect complementary pair.

Set against the peaceful backdrop of the Hampshire countryside, Glebe House is a bespoke new-build residence by a developer known for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.
For the exterior façade, the project team specified Thermo-Ayous cladding in our designer DTC19 horizontal shadow gap profile.
The result is a contemporary yet naturally grounded aesthetic. It accentuates the house’s clean architectural lines while celebrating the beauty of natural materials.

Thermo-Ayous is a thermally-modified hardwood sourced from sustainably managed forests, engineered for exceptional outdoor performance and longevity.
The thermal modification process enhances the timber’s durability and dimensional stability, reducing movement and resistance to decay without the need for chemical preservatives.
Left untreated, the wood will naturally mellow with age, developing a sophisticated silver-grey patina over time.
For Glebe House, this natural weathering approach was ideal. It allows the cladding to age gracefully into the rural setting, without the need for coatings or maintenance on completion.

Shadow gap was chosen to emphasise the home’s contemporary proportions and to create subtle shadow lines that enhance texture and depth across the façade. The profile offers clean, crisp joints and a refined appearance.
The choice of uncoated, naturally weathering timber allows Glebe House to change character over time, starting from a warm, mid-brown tone and gently transitioning to a silvery natural finish.

Sustainability and eco-friendly design was at the heart of this specification. The timber is responsibly sourced, the thermal modification process uses steam (rather than chemicals) and the exterior is low maintenance.
Our timber experts were delighted to provide close guidance throughout, from product selection and profile detailing to install support. This ensured the client’s vision aligned with performance requirements and long-term aesthetic goals.
